Challenge
As part of a broader plan to transform a parking lot in Gadehavegård into a green public space, Domea.dk wanted the voices of local youth to be central to the process, ahead of an architectural competition planned for 2027.
Approach
VOLCANO designed a participatory learning and design programme for 8th-grade students from Ole Rømer School. The students explored urban development, biodiversity, and co-design methods — interviewing residents and proposing ideas for the new park based on community insights and their own creativity.
The programme resulted in tangible design models co-created with 3XN Architects. Youth played a vital role in engaging residents and delivering design principles and local input for inclusion in Domea's tender material.
