Challenge
Alfa Development invited VOLCANO to evaluate resident experiences one year after move-in at Living By Alfa, a co-housing project in Irmabyen, Rødovre designed to strengthen everyday community life through soft infrastructure — the question was whether it actually worked, for the people living there.
Approach
Using the Our Walk App, residents documented aspects of their homes and shared spaces they appreciated or wished to improve. VOLCANO analysed the resulting photos and comments to extract both qualitative and spatial insights, rather than relying on a conventional satisfaction survey.
The evaluation gave Alfa Development data-driven recommendations for refining the co-housing concept, and inspired residents to initiate new community activities with support from the on-site community manager.
